THE ARTS COUNCIL OF ENGLAND Arts Council Logo

On 1 April 2002 the Arts Council of England and the 10 Regional Arts Boards joined together to form a single development organisation for the arts in England. The new organisation is responsible for developing, sustaining and promoting the arts in England. We aim to be a national force for the arts, delivering a higher profile, more funding and more support to artists and arts organisations.

ASSOCIATION OF LONDON GOVERNMENT

The ALG is committed to fighting for more resources for the capital and getting the best possible deal for London's 33 councils. Part think-tank and part lobbying organisation, we also run a range of services designed to make life better for Londoners.

AWARDS FOR ALL Awards for All funds projects that support community activity.
The aims of Awards for All are to:
  • Extend access and participation by encouraging more people to become actively involved in local groups and projects, and by supporting activities that aim to be open and accessible to everyone who wishes to take part;
  • Increase skill and creativity by supporting activities which help to develop people and organisations, encourage talent and raise standards;
  • Improve the quality of life by supporting local projects that improve people's opportunities, welfare, environment or local facilities, for example through voluntary action, self-help projects, local projects or events.

THE BARING FOUNDATION

The Baring Foundation was set up in 1969 to give money to charities and voluntary organisations pursuing charitable purposes. In 33 years we have given over £81 million in grants. Our present annual budget for grant-making is just over £3 million.

THE BRIDGE HOUSE TRUST

The Bridge House Estates Trust Fund makes grants in excess of £16 million a year to charitable projects benefiting the inhabitants of Greater London. Its sole trustee is the Corporation of London.

COMIC RELIEF

Comic relief is seriously committed to helping end poverty and social injustice in the UK and the poorest countries of the world.

COMMUNITY FUND

Community Fund distributes money raised by the National Lottery to support charities and voluntary and community groups throughout the UK and to UK agencies working abroad.

CREATIVE PEOPLE

National network of nine consortia providing information, advice and guidance to support the professional development of people working in the arts and craft industries. They have specific workers serving the needs of disabled people.

LONDON ARTS

London Arts is the agency for arts funding and development in the capital. It is the largest of the ten regional arts boards funded primarily through the Arts Council of England (ACE). Our Mission is to to support artistic quality and innovation throughout London and to create a climate in which the arts can thrive and make a significant contribution to the life of the capital.

NIACE is the leading non-governmental organisation for adult learning in England and Wales.

PAUL HAMLYN FOUNDATION

The Foundation has three priority areas of funding - the arts and education in the UK, and overseas projects which are concentrated in India. In all these areas Trustees' emphasis is on helping to increase the opportunities available to people. Arts grants to both national and local organisations all focus on participation and audience development. In Education there has been support for a variety of community projects which aim to ensure that teenagers at risk stay involved in school.
