Arts Seminars
Introduction
Link Up offers professional development advice through fully accessible sessions on how to make and develop a career in the arts. We are currently running two seminars, focused on the visual arts. Sign up now for these invaluable training opportunities.
There is no single pathway to being an artist. If there were it would be much like any other industry such as medicine or accountancy, where there is a structured and ordered process. By its very nature, the art world is both straightforward and yet baffling until you have acquired ‘the knowledge’
Talent is never enough
There is an enormous difference between being able to talk about your work well and just being pushy or opportunistic. Being able to convey artistic or intellectual information, and question it, forms part of the mechanics of becoming an artist, but the other part is doing the right thing, at the right time and in the right place, as well as meeting the right people.
Seminar Content
-
An introduction to how the commercial gallery system works; outlining the do’s and don’ts and how to avoid the pitfalls.
-
How to identify what a commercial gallery/dealership is looking for in both the art and the artist.
-
How to get from the drawing board to the gallery turning ideas into commercially viable works for sale and collection
-
Producing killer content and slick production methods
-
Identifying the correct gallery for you and the correct stable
-
How to get beyond the group show and progress to the solo exhibition
-

-
Who moves the market and how its done
