Further Information about Link Up - careers advice and mentoring support programme

Link Up is a professional development opportunity for deaf and disabled arts practitioners to increase their employment opportunities and/or develop their practice.
Link Up is funded by the London Development Agency (LDA): Mayor's agency for sustainable economic development.

Whether you are an established or emerging arts practitioner, this programme is for you!   Link Up will provide:

• Opportunities for established individuals to receive training to act as mentors or career guides to other deaf and disabled practitioners.

• One day professional development seminars and information days for job seekers in the arts.

• A mentor matching service for arts practitioners seeking career development support.

• One to one Careers advice and guidance sessions for emerging artists looking for employment or to further their practice in the arts.

• Information and networking events for creative industry employers seeking to recruit deaf and disabled staff.

Trainng and support is FREE
Your childcare costs, travel costs and access costs will also be met.

What does it entail?

• Established deaf and disabled creative practitioners will be recruited and trained to become Advice Guides /Mentors.
• These guides will then deliver Advice and Guidance/Mentoring to other deaf and disabled creative practitioners.
• Four annual seminars for Arts and Creative Industry employers will be held to raise awareness in the creative sector.
• Artists Professional Development Days will occur regularly as part of the programme.This programme is targeted at deaf and disabled arts practitioners living in London.
