'Animate'
Thanks to all the participants and audiences who have attended the ‘Animate’ events so far. In total we will have held five workshops and four artists’ talks by the end of the project.
A major part of the project is the development of an on-line learning resource which will feature Allan Sutherland’s Chronology of Disability Arts. The Chronology lists important events in the history of the movement.
We are looking for images/information which will bring this document to life. If you have been involved in disability arts, and think you have anything to animate the chronology with (such as photographs, programmes, information, poems etc…) please contact me: mhairi@shapearts.org.uk
'Animate' will explore key events and art pieces from this rich history through a programme of workshops and events.
The history will become a vehicle for participants to explore their own living history, as they begin to investigate wider issues around disability rights and human rights. We have sought the opinions of participants and will begin to add them to the learning resource – so please keep checking the site.
'Animate' showcased the work of four artists who were featured on the chronology and are working across diverse art forms. The online learning resource will also feature pages for each of these artists which explores their work. Please click on their names below and find out more about them…
