Girl drawing

Shape youth hosted a creative workshop at Liberty festival.

Drawing on the theme of invisible - which is also the subject matter for the open art competition at the Shape Gallery - artist Sally Booth has been exploring how disabled artists see the world, in particular how they sometimes feel they are seen as invisible by others.

Throughout the day, the public worked alongside Sally to create drawings by exploring what you see from ground level and up. An impressive 108 canvas were completed in one day.

'We are never encouraged to look down or notice our surroundings from ground level. Art works are hung high in galleries and assume we are all six foot tall. And who sees work drawn from an alternative eye level - Sally Booth'

This was kindly funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
