Venice Agendas was a series of breakfast events and performances during the preview week of the 55th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia in May 2013.

Shape as a partner with Workinprogress recently took part in 'Venice agendas' - PerformanceArt - Are you here? Were you there?

An event Chaired by Jean Wainwright at the Venice Biennale over three days to discuss and debate the state of performance art.

Tony Heaton Shape CEO shared the platform with legendary US Performance Artist Joan Jonas, English Performance Artist Marcia Farquhar, leading US Academic Kathy Battista, Lois Keidan from LADA, Lauren A Wright from Turner Contemporary, and European artists Verena Stenke, Andrea Pagnes, Marta Joranovic and rAndom International.

Our role was to emphasise how disabled artists might work within a performance context as a response to the failure of the arts establishment to either recognise disability arts within a historical or contemporary framework and to raise the concept of the 'Unintended Performer' as an opportunity to explore difference creatively.

As a result of this successful initiative Shape will look to explore further international opportunities to promote the work of disabled artists.
