Shape has just celebrated its 40th successful year and, as it draws to a close, I must announce that I will be stepping down as Chief Executive.

Looking back is important but looking forward is essential and in looking forward I think this is the right time for me to take some time out to catch up with all that sculpture I have been threatening to make whilst busy leading Shape! As the great George Harrison said, All Things Must Pass.

Pauline Tambling CBE will also be stepping down after fulfilling her term as our amazing and inspirational Chair. Pauline has been a very important support for me and wise in her advice and guidance - it's been an honour to work with her and I know I have learned much from our partnership; I also know she will be there for advice and guidance when needed.

It's been a great honour and privilege to have led Shape over most of the last decade and I think we are in a great position to push into the future. The steps towards the next 40 years will be led by a new Chief Executive who will inherit a fantastic, enthusiastic and capable staff team who will work hard to achieve Shape's aims; the team will drive diversity and inclusion, not just at Shape but across the world, and have fun doing it. They will also be supported by a strong and capable Board of Trustees which I have been invited to Chair, as they say, all things change, all things remain the same.

Thank you to all who have had the generosity of spirit to have helped us spiritually, financially and artistically, onwards...!
