Kaite O’Reilly won the Ted Hughes Award for Persians (National Theatre Wales), Peggy Ramsay Award for YARD (Bush Theatre, London), and MEN best play for Perfect (Contact Theatre). Other credits include: the 9 fridas (Taipei 2014, Hong Kong 2016); Woman of Flowers (Forest Forge); In Water I’m Weightless (National Theatre Wales/Unlimited/Wales Millennium Centre/Southbank Centre);LeanerFasterStronger (Chol Theatre/Sheffield Crucible); peeling (Graeae); Schlachthaus (Maxim Gorki, Berlin). A Fellow of International Research Centre ‘Interweaving Performance Cultures’ in Berlin, she is reflecting on her extensive work in disability culture and the relationship between hearing and Deaf cultures.
