The Attack of the Gulls is a metaphor for the violation of our human rights. For disabled people, it reflects how our lives are constantly picked apart by those in power—those who decide our futures without us. The fish and chips wrapping, once joyful, now holds old headlines—our rights reduced to forgotten news. We are not yesterday’s story. We live with the daily erosion of our dignity, choices, and voices. The gulls circle, but we resist. One day, if we do not give up our battles, it would be beautiful to eat fish and chips on a beach in peace—without fear, without judgment, and with our rights fully intact.
