Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who has raised a fantastic €246 for Shape in celebration of the birthday of actor Luke Newberry, best known for his roles in BBC Three drama 'In The Flesh', and the current Channel 4 programme 'Banana'.

The project came about through the Luke Newberry Fans tumblr and @LukeNewberries twitter account - fans decided to put together a birthday book for Luke of artwork and messages, and create a JustGiving page for people who wished to give a gift by donating to a selected charity.

Shape Arts is delighted to have been chosen as the charity to be helped by these gifts. Every donation received is eligible to be matched by the Arts Council’s Catalyst Arts, meaning money goes further in helping enable us to continue making the arts sector more accessible. Find out more about Shape's vision by clicking here.

Pada, who runs the Luke Newberry twitter account, presented Luke with the book on his birthday. The image above shows his reaction on receiving his gift! Luke also tweeted the following:

"Thank you for my Birthday book @miss_prg @LukeNewberries and for the money raised for the charity @ShapeArts! You're al
l stars!"
