Simon Raven was the recipient of the 2013 Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary.

His residency took place at the Camden Arts Centre.

A graduate of Ruskin School of Fine Art Oxford and the Royal College of Art London, Raven has exhibited at Nottingham Castle, University College London, Reading Experimental Film Festival and Chester's Up the Wall Festival.

Raven's proposal for the residency referenced contemporary philosopher Slavoj Zizeck's idea that, in the hedonistic rush of modern life, psychoanalysis can provide a refuge in which it is 'Ok to be Boring'. He used the studio and wider gallery to establish a series of immersive installations and performative interventions.

We've put together a brief Q&A with Simon on his experiences of the bursary and residency, which you can read here.
