Our story Our people Artists Benedict Robinson Latest collaboration: Benedict's film Steve Parker was exhibited as part of the 2025 Shape Open exhibition Rights Cuts Action Artist statement: Benedict Robinson is a painter and filmmaker whose practice draws from his childhood and adolescence in the 2000s. Working in acrylic and moving image, he creates paintings and films based on TV programmes, characters, video games, politics, comic books and memories from this era. He collates screenshots from games and television to create imagined environments, storylines, and collages of a lost analogue-digital world. Robinson has made three films with Biggerhouse Film through their neurodiverse emerging talent programmes: Steve Parker, Hand Story, and Death of the Internet. Covering topics as diverse as internet censorship, pandemics (pre Covid) and Disability using black comedy and off beat storylines, he has shown his films at Sheffield Doc/Fest, Oscar Bright and Encounters. As an autistic artist, his practice is informed by a lifelong passion for collecting—not only physical objects but ongoing special interests in news, current affairs, film, games, books and characters. This deep engagement with pop culture artefacts allows him to authentically reconstruct and recontextualize these formative digital landscapes. He is currently part of the post graduate Emerge Studio Residency run by Bath Spa University. Visit Benedict's website Manage Cookie Preferences
