NDMAC

Led by Shape CEO David Hevey, the National Disability Movement Archive and Collection (NDMAC) is the latest large scale heritage project delivered by Shape. With funding from the The National Lottery Heritage Fund, NDMAC began its Development Phase in April 2020 with the aim to collect the heritage story of the UK Disability Movement, which fought for inclusion and rights and which resulted in the Disability Discrimination Act and more. The Development Phase completes in late 2021 and it is the period during which Shape will build the teams and write the key policies to realise the National Lottery Heritage Funded Delivery Phase funding and so build to NDMAC Going Live 2025. In the Delivery Phase 2021 – 2025, we hope to create the NDMAC E-Learning Portal full of modules for online learning at all levels, the NDMAC Website full of online tools for general users’ needs, the NDMAC Repository of Works in Peckham, as well as collect a 1,000+ objects, articles, publications and ephemera from the key movement activists who helped deliver inclusion for disabled people over the last several decades.
